About the Event

Join us for 'A Filmy Affair,' a special online Film Appreciation Workshop presented by Karwaan: The Heritage Exploration Initiative and led by Eshan Sharma. Dive into the history of Indian Cinema in this beginner-friendly virtual experience tailored for cinephiles like you. Classes will take place on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) over 12 days, totaling 24 hours of exploration covering 111 years of Indian cinema. The Weekend Batch will start from 13th July 2024. Saturdays at 9 PM and Sundays at 10 AM IST. Limited slots available. Registration Fee:

- Students: ₹ 3500 for the entire 12-day workshop - Non-students: ₹ 5000 for the entire 12-day workshop

Engage in discussions on contemporary cinema and form your own informed opinions, enhancing your appreciation for films, akin to understanding classical music.  The Karwaan Film Appreciation Workshop stands out because it provides participants with opportunities to meet and interact with film personalities and learn from their experiences, as well as through lectures. During the last workshop, we have had the pleasure of meeting Paresh Naik (Filmmaker), Mukesh Manjunath (Screenwriter, Author), Pavan Jha (Film Historian), Akshay Indikar (Filmmaker), and Anamika Haksar (Filmmaker). About the Resource Person:

Eshan Sharma is a writer, heritage activist, and TEDx speaker, known for founding Karwaan: The Heritage Exploration Initiative. With a background in History from Delhi University and ongoing studies in Modern Indian History from MSU, Baroda, Eshan's interests span films, history, and the intersection between the two. Currently, he is working on a book project on the New Wave in Indian Cinema. *Refunds are not possible under any circumstance.
